Lunchtime Debate: Design, Plastics, and Sustainable Practices – Can they be combined?

Join us for a debate and lunchtime networking event as we explore the practical challenges faced by designers wanting to create environmentally friendly products while navigating the complexities of avoiding greenwashing.

Designers strive for a "green profile" in their products. But can recycled plastic materials meet this goal, or is designing exclusively in wood the only path to true sustainability?

This debate will take us around the challenges designers face in their quest to create environmentally friendly products, and how they navigate the complexities of avoiding greenwashing or greenhushing.

Our panel of experts will share their experiences, perspectives, and strategies on the topics:

  • Overcoming greenwashing and greenhushing

  • Exploring the potential of eco-friendly and circular design in plastic

  • Incorporating sustainable design principles: reuse, disassembly, and recycling

  • Challenges and opportunities for Danish startup companies with green ambitions

The panel includes:

  • Martin Holm, R&D Manager, LETBEK

  • Lone Mikkelsen, Senior Advisor, Green Transition Denmark (Rådet for Grøn Omstilling)

  • Arendse Baggesen, Founder, Small Revolution

  • Anders Koefoed, Founding Partner, Målbar

  • Søren Hinge-Christensen, Chief Consultant, the Association of Danish Wood and. Furniture Industries (Træ- og Møbelindustrien)
