Plastic Pavilion Student Awards

Showcasing innovation in sustainable plastics solutions by students from The Royal Danish Academy.

Plastindustrien (The Danish Plastics Federation) and The Royal Danish Academy have joined forces in getting new ideas and perspectives on the use and reuse og plastics in design and building construction. The collaboration began in 2022 and was finalized in the spring of 2023 resulting in several exciting, creative, and innovative projects from 40 architecture students.

All students have worked with the challenges from the Innovation Catalogue ‘Plastic Pavilion’. The challenges are defined by the plastics industry in Denmark.

The exhibition in the pavilion - open between June 19 - July 12 - showcases the selected projects submitted to Plastic Pavilion Student Award 2023, each representing a unique vision of sustainability.

The projects have been assessed by a jury consisting of Lene Espersen, former CEO of the Danish Association of Architectural Firms and current chairman on the board of Green Hub Denmark, Mikkel A. Thomassen, partner at Smith Innovation and Rasmus Grusgaard, Senior Consultant in The Danish Plastics Federation. The winner is granted DKK 20.000.
