In Ugelbølle, Mols Denmark, Møllerens Hus A/S are building 29 terraced houses using Jackon Radon Board to prevent radon in the houses. The radon board can reduce radon concentration substantially.

In Denmark, some areas have a high concentration of radon - Ugelbølle in eastern Jutland is one of those areas. To Møllerens Hus A/S, effective radon protection was important when building the 29 terraced houses.

- We chose to protect the houses against radon with Jackon Radon Board and Jackon Radon Connect by pressure equalizing the outside of the construction against the ground, ensuring no penetration of radon into the houses. By doing so a healthier indoor climate is achieved.

Due to the pressure difference inside and outside a building, radon enters our buildings through cracks, turning our buildings into a radon vacuum cleaner. A high radon concentration within a building can have health consequences for the people living there.

It has been a tradition within the industry to radon secure buildings with wall foil and grout, preventing (if carried out correctly) the penetration of radon in our homes and buildings. Unfortunately, the method has not always proven to be as effective as expected, but introducing new and safer solutions is difficult, as old habits die hard. We worked with a brand-new product from BEWI, meaning technical support was important before, but also during the process. The process worked well, and we received all the support needed, concludes Nikolaj Nøhr, owner of Anlæg & Entrepre-Nøhr
