Expanded PolyPropylene(EPP) is well used by the HVAC industry. EPP has many different properties that makes more than packaging. It has high insulation value, high durability and impact strength, corrosion resistance, light weight, recyclable and suitable reuse, and can be produced in 30% recycled material.

Many products within the HVAC industry contains EPP due to its many properties. It can serve as protective packaging during transport and afterwards serve as an insulating cover in which you can mount wires, cabinets, and even install circuit boards. The material doesn’t degenerate so it is perfect for reusage and afterwards recycling. (HVAC) systems are produced in 15% Ocean Plastic (made of old fishing nets).

The advantages for EPP is:

  • The EPP material has a high insulating ability, which contributes to efficient heating and cooling in the building. It reduces heat or cooling leakage and helps maintain a stable indoor temperature.

  • The EPP material is corrosion resistant, meaning it will not rust or degrade over time when in contact with water or humid environments. This extends the lifetime of the product and reduces the need for frequent replacement or maintenance.

  • EPP is suitable for reuse since it is a long lasting and hard to break and after many years of usage it can be recycled. All EPP products can be produced in 30% recycled material and even Ocean Plastic.

  • The EPP material can be shaped and adapted to specific design and installation requirements. It is easy to cut, shape and drill in, making it possible to adapt the cabinet to different dimensions and layouts.

  • EPP is a lightweight material that doesn’t have sharp edges or is emitting hazardous particles. This makes it safe to handle and use in the HVAC system.
