Facade insulation with PIR is an effective external insulation which can replace internal insulation. The high insulation ability makes it possible to create a facade insulation, which is thin while still remaing its insulation ability.

The company Briiso ApS specializes in materials for post-insulation of buildings and has developed the high insulation facade system, Briiso.

As an insulation system Briiso consists of a hard PIR foam plate that is being mounted on a shell of bricks.

With a density of 35 kg pr cubic meters, the PIR/PUR foam plate has an insulation ability of 0,020 W/(mK), which makes it possible to create a shell that is thin but keeping the insulation ability intact. The PIR-foam plates is molded in blocks and creates a hardened material with closed cells, which gives the material its high insulating abilities. The blocks are processed at Tinbys Sunekær location in Søndersø, Denmark, wherefrom they can be delivered ready to be easily mounted.

Thermal bridges can be an issue when using internal insulation. By insulating the house from the outside, the entire house can be effectively enclosed in insulation.
