iQ Surface is an ultra-resistant, homogeneous flooring solution in vinyl. The floor can be restored to its original expression with simple dry buffing. When it’s time to change the floor, Tarkett takes it back via ReStart® and recycles it into new floors. This reduces the carbon footprint to 3,83 CO2/m2.

Tarkett’s iQ Surface is a homogeneous vinyl flooring and it contains over 25% of recycled material. It is an innovative flooring solution that withstands decades of constant use without diminishing in its appearance. An inspiring collection empowering architects and designers to express their creativity with regards to form, function, and colour. iQ Surface can be used on different surfaces like walls, furniture and floors and it is certified for use in bathrooms. The collection was designed by Note (design studio), and it's five colour families with complementary coloured welding rods, can be combined with each other and go well with other materials such as metal, stone, wood and glass.

All Tarkett’s iQ flooring solutions are part of Tarkett’s Circular Collection and can be recycled via Tarkett’s ReStart® system. Tarkett works with circular economy and develops products from good phthalate-free materials. It is free of formaldehyde and 100% REACH compliant. Tarkett believes that circular economy is the right strategy to save resources, reduce the amount of waste and contribute to stop global warming.

Today Tarkett reuses large amounts of installation waste, but in 2019 Tarkett developed a new technique that makes it possible to reuse post-use vinyl flooring too. The old floors are cleaned of glue and concrete slab, granulated and used as raw materials in new vinyl floors. The quality of these new floors is just as good as floors made from completely new raw materials. This innovative process, made in Sweden, makes it possible to reuse tonnes of old vinyl floors. Installed iQ Surface is thus 100% recyclable, when the wish for a new look arises.

But recycling is not just about technical solutions, the whole chain from the building to new production must work. That is why Tarkett has worked hard to instore routines in order to collect installation waste and old floors through the ReStart® system where Tarkett collaborates with architects, designers, contractors and installers. The ReStart recycling programme exists in Denmark and 15 other countries.
